Tell me, tell me what you got for me
Tell me, tell me what you got
Show me, show just a little bit of
Love me, love like y mean it baby
Stay or go, tell me what you want from me
Hold me, hold me like you haven’t held me
Hold me, hold me like you should now baby
Tell me, tell me what you’re felling baby
Hold me, hold me like you never want to
Stay or go, tell me what you want from me
Now baby ever since, you left me high and dry
You know all I want to do is sit around and cry
Baby since you left, don’t even want to try
All I want to do is just cry cry cry
Solo
Now baby ever since, you left me high and dry
You know all I want to do is sit around and cry
Baby since you left, don’t even want to try
All I want to do is just cry cry cry
Tell me, tell me everything thing will be
Tell me, tell me that my heart will heal
Show me, show me that it all ain’t real
Teel me, tell me I don’t have to be
Stay or go, tell me what you want from me
Stay or go, tell me what you want from me

Confused Blues
Woke up this morning there’s a suitcase beside my bed
Woke up this morning there’s a suitcase beside my bed
Baby said if I don’t hit the road She’d be better off dead
Yesterday she loved me but now I’m really confused
Yesterday she loved me but now I’m really confused
Baby said if I leave she’d have nothing to lose
Used to love me in the morning
Used to love me at night
Now when I climb into bed
You tell me get out sight
Oh baby won’t you tell me
Tell me what did I do
Yesterday you said you loved me
Now I know I’m really confused
Is this what I get for loving you all this time
Is this what I get for loving you all this time
Your low down ways make me lose my mind
Oh where oh where is the sweet gal I once knew
Oh where oh where is the sweet gal I once knew
Like a lonesome train you done left me with the blues

Devil's Cadillac

The Devil’s Cadillac
I been around the block more than a few of times
Done my share of living fast been on some crazy rides
But when I saw that dark haired lady she was walking down the street
Stopped me in my tracks ‘man’ I could feel the heat
There was something different bout the way that she smiled
There was something evil in those big dark eyes
And when she turned (her head) around to take a look
I could swear it was the Devil she read me like a book
Her middle name was trouble but that didn’t scare me
I really only wanted what my eyes couldn’t see
And before I knew it we were riding in the back
Of a big black car she called the Devil’s Cadillac
Well I asked her where we’re heading she said not very far
There was a driver in the front two other ladies were in the car
It was the smoothest ride that I’d ever been in
On the dark side of town she took me to the House Of Sin
We didn’t go in the front went up the stairs around the back
Then she tore off my shirt and pushed me down upon the bed
Only thing that I remember was the last thing that she said
I’d have to sell my soul to ride the Devil’s Cadillac
The sun was coming up I don’t remember a (bloody) thing
But ever since that night I’ve never felt the same
And when I closed the door behind me took the stairs in the back
The black car was coming for me roaring down in the street
What happened to the lady that brought me to this place
The driver said that she’d been gone for more than a week
The door is always open but you can never go back
When you go for a ride in the Devil’s Cadillac

I Can't Help Myself
04:24
|
|||
I can’t help myself
You took my heart
One piece at a time
No going back now, I can’t change my mind
There ain’t nothing I would not do
I can’t help myself, I’m in love with you
And if the world
Just fell apart
I would keep you safe, right here in my heart
There ain’t nothing I would not do
I can’t help myself, I’m in love with you
BR
Forever and always, by your side
Don’t need much, just want to hold you tight
Cross my heart and hope to die
With each and every single tear you cry
And when our time, on earth has passed
You know you and I, our love will last
‘Cause there ain’t nothing I would not do
I can’t help myself, I’m in love with you
You took my heart
One piece at a time
No going back
I can’t change my mind
There ain’t nothing I would not do
I can’t help myself, I’m in love with you
I can’t help myself, I’m in love with you

Fake News
I don’t know who to trust these days when I turn on the evening news
I don’t know who to trust these days when I turn on the evening news
Everybody thinks they know the answers and it’s just giving me the blues
I don’t know what to believe these days I don’t know what’s going on
I don’t know what to believe these days I don’t know what’s going on
Every day is a different story it’s just giving me the blues
I get tired when I read the newspaper somebody’s opinion is on the front page
I get tired with what I’m reading always some opinion on the front page
All this fake news is just giving me the blues
I’m afraid to answer the phone I don’t want to read my mail
I’m afraid to answer my phone I don’t even want to read my mail
There might be someone listening cause what I say or think might put me in jail
I don’t know how the world got like this I don’t know what’s real anymore
I don’t know how the world got like this I don’t know what ‘s anymore
I used to believe in free will I just don’t know what freedom is anymore

The Runaround

|

The Runaround
Get up every morning I work from six to four
When I go to work you’re just coming in the door
When I ask you to tell me where you been
You tell me to mind my own business Don’t ask me that again
Lord oh lord why does this keep happening to me
If this ain’t the runaround I’m just too blind to see
Stopped by my local and there’s a smile on everyone’s face
I’m saying to myself I must be in the wrong place
When I ask them why is everybody wearing a grin
They all start laughing “Don’t you know where she’s been”
Lord oh Lord why is this happening to me
If this ain’t the runaround I’m just too blind to see
Every day I come home from work, my place is a mess
I give her money for food she buys a new dress
I’m saying to myself that I must be some kind of fool
To handle a woman like this I never learned in school
Lord Oh Lord why does this keep happening to me
If this ain’t the runaround I’m just too blind to see
Well I went to see my doctor to fix this pain in my head
Got no pills for what ails you man you need a lawyer instead
So I go to see my preacher and he says man don’t you see
He just looked me straight in the eye and started laughing at me
Lord lord why does this keep happening to me
This is the runaround but Im just too blind to see

Long Shot

|

Long Shot
I’m nobody’s front page news
That’s not where you’ll find me
I’m on the back pages
Of somebody’s broken heart
Love was just a game to me
A game that I was good at losing
So many I should have won
But I never played a winner
A sure thing baby is something I’m not
So if you’re gonna bet on me
You’re betting on a long shot
I’d be lying if I didn’t say
I let some sure things slip away
I’d be lying If I never said
I let the good ones slip away
Mr. Regret he’s a friend of mine
And I’ve known him a long time
And (I’ve had) had my heart
Broken by many
A sure thing baby is something I’m not
So if you bet on me
You’re betting on a long shot
If you want dance I’m not steady
If you want to take a chance you know I’m ready
A sure thing baby is something I’m not
So if you bet on me
You’re betting on a long shot

Isolation Blues
This new norm I don’t like what I see
Don’t get too close just keep your distance from me
When I go out for a walk people cross the street
If I’m not wearing a mask people stare at me
Better safe than sorry you might end up dead
If you don’t mind get what I got to get and go
I stay inside sometimes more than a week
Only go outside to take my dog for a leak
The Govt’s telling me to stay the fuck home
When I talk to my friends its only on the phone
All I do is pray this will end
Hope you don’t mind - Get what I got to get and go
I miss the days when life was so carefree
I just keep asking myself what my grandkids will see
The world I knew is so far from them
Only hope and pray this won’t happen again
So in the meantime I’ll just have to lay low
And if you don’t mind I’ll get what I got to get and go
What I’m saying please don’t get me wrong
I was going stir crazy when I wrote this song
I’m only telling it like it is because it’s what I see
If you don’t like what I’m saying don’t listen to me
I got to say what’s on my mind
God strike me dead if I’m telling a lie
Why don’t You tell me if it ain’t so
And if you don’t mind
Get what I got to get and go

Nostalgia Blues
Man, I used to love that place
Back when we all had time to waste
I’d hop on a bus and go downtown
Me and my friends we’d just hang around
Then we’d end up there, there for a beer
Grab a table up front near the band we could hear
Music………. playing loud and clear
We were frozen in time, we were lost in space
Just couldn’t get enough of that place
Fed my soul and it eased my mind
Man, if I could only go back in time
Chorus:
Back when the nights were as long as the days
Back when our lives were the music we made
Back when our hearts beat ever so strong
Back to the days when we could do no wrong
Oh back to the future, back to the past
When livin was easy and lovin would last
Cry me a river, my sweet valentine
Oh my my you’re lookin so fine
Oh beat me daddy, eight to the bar
Hold on tight keep your feet on the floor
Dance floor’s hopin all the tables are packed
Drinkin 10 cent beer way down at the Laff
Chorus
Back when the nights were as long as the days
Back when our lives were the music we made
Back when our hearts beat ever so strong
Back to the days when we could do no wrong
Sing me a rhythm, sing me a rhyme
With Back Alley John wailin in time
My heart’s a beatin, 4 on the floor
Take me back there quick I can’t take it no more
Chorus
Back when the nights were as long as the days
Back when our lives were the music we made
Back when our hearts beat ever so strong
Back to the days when we could do no wrong

Wearing The Blues
I’m all dressed up got a brand new pair of shoes
I’m all dressed up got a brand new pair of shoes
Got nowhere to go I’m just wearing the blues
The streets are empty and all the joints are closed
The streets are empty and all the joints are closed
There aint no music playing I’m just wearing the blues
My baby’s left me and I’m feeling so alone
My baby’s left me and I’m feeling so alone
When I feel like this I’m wearing the blues
Oh where’s my baby why did you have to leave
Oh where’s my baby why did you have to leave
I’m gonna miss you honey I’ll just be wearing the blues
Sitting here thinking why did I ever let you go
Sitting here thinking why did I ever let you go
Got no one to blame now I’m wearing the blues
I’m all dressed up got a brand new pair of shoes
I’m all dressed up got a brand new pair of shoes
Got nowhere to go I’m just wearing the blues
