Living a Lie 03:51
Living A Lie You took all my loving I gave it all to you You told me that you loved me I still believed you You even danced with another and I forgave you That look in your eyes it’s not what I knew Were you true to yourself or just living a lie Foolish games that you played just blinded your eyes The deeper you dig the wells going dry Not living the dream just living a lie The restless heart can’t find no peace You are hearing voices in the night its tearing up your mind You are a stranger to yourself and its becoming you There’s no denying you believe your own lies Sometimes searching for truth isn’t easy to find When the pleasures unreal it plays tricks on your mind Because deep in your heart a cruel love it ain’t kind Not living the dream you’re living a lie Well you run from this hell there’s a hound on your tail You are chasing yourself but the trail is running cold You fall down on your knees It makes a strong man weak No praying for your soul you have been living a lie Sometimes searching for truth isn’t easy to find When the pleasures unreal it plays tricks on your mind Deep in your heart a cruel love it ain’t kind When you’re living in a dream you’re living a lie ©Victor Nesrallah 2021

Born With The Blues I wake up in the morning feeling like I woke up from the dead Feels like I get up every day on the wrong side of the bed I don’t feel the way I do because somebody done me wrong It’s not something I choose I was born with the blues I spent a lot of money trying to get my business fixed I wasted all my time talking to some fancy therapist My friends keep trying to tell me they know what’s good for me It’s not something that I choose I was born with the blues It don’t make no difference I wear my shades at night It could be bright as day but I can’t see the light It’s like I’m sitting in the shadow of a dark and dim view Do what I got to do to make it go away But I still wake up feeling the same old way It ain’t something I can just throw away It’s not something that I choose I was born with the blues © Victor Nesrallah 2021

Little Blue Pill The night was kinda hazy I don’t remember when I was leaning on the rail bartender can you hit me again I said make it a double and one for all of my friends She just smiled and she did it again I saw this blond haired lady must have just walked in What she wasn’t wearing turned everybody’s head She must have seen me coming leaned right into me Said I looked kinda lonely do I want some company Well on the dance floor she was squeezing me She whispered in my ear do I want some company I don’t like rush into things I like to take my time She said she would make it worth my while if I had more than a dime Well we danced up a storm headed over to the bar I’d be back in a minute so don’t go very far I finished doing my business powdered up my nose But I came back to the bar she was with some other guy But as she was talking to him she kept winking at me Then she gave that dude the brush and looked me straight in the eye She said it’s not the kinda thing where you try before you buy If that’s the game I was playing I should be shopping for a car I told her straight up I didn’t know what she meant She said with that kinda attitude it wouldn’t be money well spent That in my state of mind I probably wouldn’t feel the thrill Then reached into her purse and pulled out a little blue pill She told me not to worry just leave it up to her If she couldn’t turn me on that little blue pill it would Got a pill to make you stronger even when you’re feeling weak A pill to push you over the top and bring you back again One pill to get you higher one pill to get you low Pills got me so confused should I stay or should I go The moral of my story is a sad one but it’s true If you think you are getting over your head you probably are and you will Well you don’t need me to tell you once bitten you’re twice stung If it happens once it will happen again it’s got you on the run So if you are sitting wondering how this story ends He took too many pills that night and they never saw him again © Victor Nesrallah 2021
